Nicola's non existent letter
Another fabication in the long
history of Tory lies/smears
as the Zinoviev story reveals
Zinoviev letter was dirty trick by MI6
New light on the scandal which triggered the fall of the first Labour government in 1924 is shed in a study by Gill Bennett, chief historian at the Foreign Office, commissioned by Robin Cook.
It points the finger at Desmond Morton, an MI6 officer and close friend of Churchill who appointed him personal assistant during the second world war, and at Major Joseph Ball, an MI5 officer who joined Conservative Central Office in 1926.
More history here very interesting it is to

There is nothing new under the sun
Frankly I'm speechless over this one.
ReplyDeleteDespite denials from the French Ambassador, the French Consul General, and the Foreign Office, Miliband , Dugdale, Murphy and the Daily Mail adn Daily Telegraph continue to try to make capital out of something that almost surely didn't happen.
Oh they say, Sturgeon was new to the job. She wouldn't have realised that everything she said had to, by law, be reported back to the Philip Hammond. Big Brother to you and me.
'Cept of course, that Nicola has been Deputy FM for 7 years and in any case, is a trained lawyer. She's had more meetings with foreign consuls and ambassadors, heads of government and state than I've had had cooked breakfasts.
The Tories and their recently totally compliant lie sheet the Torygraph are behind it, abetted by the toilet paper that is the Hitler supporting Daily Mail.
I'm sure Toryboy McTernan is the reason the Labour Party is still involved, but for heaven's sake can they be THAT desperate?
Of course by continuing to spread this story, not only are Miliband and his minions calling Nicola a liar (fair enough ...that's politics), they are calling the french Ambassador and his Consul liars. Actually, since the FO seems to have no knowledge of it, he appears to be calling them liars too.
I want Miliband to be the next prime minister (on the basis that he's not Cameron or Johnson), but I think I'd prefer if he had a little more savoir faire.
As you say though, there's nothing new under the sun.

Others are acting brainless which isn't going down
