I went to New York once for 10 days and I have to say it was a bit boring. It was nice over on Liberty island but the rest was just drab. I hadnt expected parts of Manhattan to look like the Barras in Glasgow, so that was a surprise. The people were surprisingly nice.

New York is exciting, and everyone should see it once, at least. But it doesn't beat Paris or Luxembourg or Budapest.
It seems strangely soulless.
And now it will be the home of the tinsel town president, with the taste of a middle eastern potentate.
It doesn't even beat Kirriemuir.
