Blow for SNP as support for

independence slips

Yep! Alex can see his life ambition

slipping slowly through his hands

and he lashes out in his madness

and his  pain.

Attacking his own kith and kin as

AntiScottish and others as Nazis

Alex heads for the River

just as the tide begins to turn

its all slip slidng away

If in some smothering dreams, you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin,
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs
    Bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues, —
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,

The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
    Pro patria mori.

And no one lies more than the Nationalists

  2. Your prose is far better than your poll interpretation not that I understood it and my latin is far worse. Personal opinions don't make facts and the pollster you are taking your figures from predicted 69 Labour MSPs last May, oops.

    1. Ah, CH, Bow before this master. For if this is indeed the work of our Niko, then he is none other than the revered war poet Wilfred Owen. He must be knocking on a bit though, because he was the official poet for the First World War.

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori = It is sweet and fitting to die for one's country.

As daft then as it is now, in English or Latin.
