  1. Of course she is, she has to, no matter how unpalatable to some; in the end she has proven herself to be a stateswoman of the highest order.
    You have to respect that, no matter your political leaning or bias.

    After exhausting every avenue, and avoiding the cul-de-sac of the Union, independence will be seen as the only route to remaining in the EU.

    1. Agreed. Nicola said after the referendum that she respected the result that Scotland had decided to stay in the UK union.

      She equally respects that that was based on an explicit promise that this was the only way to stay in the EU. Labour made it; the Tories made it.

      Some people bought it.

      Scotland voted by 62-38 to stay in the EU. Labour voters, Green voters, SNP voters, Liberal voters, possibly some Tory voters wanted to stay.

      What should Nicola do? Let Boris and David and their ilk pull us out? Without looking at how to say all the jobs and the farmers payments and all the money students bring in... etc, etc.?
